Building on the memory retrieve. Gradually increasing the distance you are sending your dog. Delivery to hand is essential at this level and we are looking for a fast accurate out run, neat pick up and direct run back to the handler. Walk your dog to heel (off lead at this level) some distance, building up over time, place the dummy, tell your dog to "mark" then "leave it" then walk your dog to heel again away from the dummy. Once you are happy with how far you have walked, turn, sit your dog up and line them and send "back". If your dog doesn't go straight out to it, call your dog in to you and walk close and resend until you get the success.
